Save H20…Save $$$$$$$$ (in the kitchen & laundry)
Saving water is a lot more than the environmentally responsible thing to do. Doing so helps you retain more of your hard earned cash.
Here are a few tips to keep in mind in the kitchen and laundry:
- Run the dishwasher only when it is full. Don’t we all have plenty of dishes and glasses?? Full loads save up to 15 gallons per load and hot water costs.
- Wash vegetables and fruit in a basin and use a vegetable brush to remove dirt. Saves two to four gallons per session.
- Run the washing machine only when it is full and adjust the water level setting to match the load. Saves 22 to 25 gallons per load. Saves hot water costs also.
- Find and fix dripping or trickling, or oozing faucets. Leaks can waste from 75 to several hundreds of gallons of water in a WEEK.
- Install a low-flow faucet aerator in the kitchen. This can save as much as 25% or 1 ½ gallons per MINUTE.
Do the math. The savings can be great. A to Z Statewide Plumbing can help by repairing that drip or installing the aerator. Using A to Z Statewide Plumbing is also a savings because the job will be done right.
